New to the forum, not new to Land Rover. After being a life-long BMW fan and owner and having owned 5 different BMW cars or SUVs, made the jump from a BMW X3 3.0xi M Performance to a new 2020 Range Rover Evoque P250SE January of 2021. Nice little SUV, great tech and easy to drive for her, been mostly reliable (have had to have 2 batteries replaced in 5 years due to the AZ heat). Last summer, I got rid of my 540i M-Sport Dinan Stage 3 and bought a 2015 Range Rover Sport HSE w/ 74k miles on it for $17,900. Had it for 2 weeks, about 350-400 miles, and the coolant system decided to take a dump. Back to Land Rover, 2 weeks and $5k later (dealer paid for it), got it back, put the Verde Axis wheels on, another 9-10 days later the coolant system decided to take a worse dump while at a red light about a mile from home, died, and got towed back to the dealer. 3 days later, I get another $4500 quote from Land Rover to fix different parts of the coolant system (still surface level). I had it towed to a Land Rover mechanic that works for a friend, he tore it apart and 2 1/2 months, another $9700, and I have a completely rebuilt from the bottom block up 3.0L DOHC Supercharged V6 w/ all aluminum coolant components, mostly new internals, top and bottom block (warped a couple pistons, melted one of the cylinder openings, melted part of the bottom block), w/ an upgraded 50+ HP Supercharger kit; etc.. Runs better than ever. but if I had known it was going to cost another $10k out of my pocket on top of $5k from the dealership (still believe they should be responsible since it was part of the same bigger issue and they only did surface level repairs), I would have bought a newer, lower mileage Sport. But it is what it is, and since there's $15k into just the motor and coolant system since I bought it, along with $5k in wheels and tires, I am going to have this thing for a while if I don't want to take an absolute bath on it or lose my ass, I would just update everything I possibly could on it. I'm about 1/3 - 1/2 done updating it to a '22 SVR appearance.
