Just joined the group. I am also a member of some other RRS forums but nobody willing to help with my problem, so hoping someone here can help me urgently.
I have a hot air blowing on drivers side (UK Right hand drive) but cold air blowing on the passenger side, left hand side.
The last thing i want to do is remove the dashboard to change the matrix. Quite possibley blocked as one of the pipes from the headwall is hot and the other is cold/slightly warm.
I have also read that the heater control valve (HCV) can also be problematic so dealing with the two easiest options first.
My car is currently sat in a local garage wher ethe mechanic has failed to find the heater control valve on the car. I have researched so much where the valve was highlighted to be on the left side as well as the right hand side of the engine bay. The mechanic was very keen to do it and also said it was located on the drivers side. All day working on the car, removing the air intake, battery compartment and no sign of the HCV. I have looked myself and i cant see it. someone i phoned said it was under the battery tray, attached the the inner wing. To remove the battery tray completely is a big job as the fuse box has to come out as well.
When the valve was going to get replaced, the matrix was also going to be blasted through to clear any waste that could be blocking it. we havnt got to this stage yet as we concentrated on the HCV. The mechanic is thinking there is no HCV on this car but from what i read, there is. I am changing the HCV for peace of mind due to the valve being a common problem.
My question is, can anyone tell me where exactly the HCV is located and what needs to be removed to access it?
An answer before the morning would be very much appreciated.
many thanks
