2018 Range Rover Velar Shines on Stage With Ellie Goulding

For its U.S. debut, the all-new 2018 Range Rover Velar shared the stage with English pop star Ellie Goulding, who gave an exclusive live performance by at the Hearst Plaza in New York City. The performance was broadcasted live online to a global audience and precedes a charity auction of the hot crossover at the East Side House Settlement Annual Gala later in the week. Ellie Goulding will be one of the first to drive the new Velar.

The East Side House Settlement charity gala will be held at the Jacob Javits Center on Thurday, April 13, in advance of the 2017 New York auto show. The winning bidder will be one of the first in the world to take delivery of the Velar and proceeds will benefit the New York City-based non-profit organization.

he Range Rover Velar fills the space between the Range Rover Evoque and the Range Rover Sport and incorporates some of the latest technology from the automaker including the all-new InControl Touch Pro Duo that features two 10-inch high-definition screens that control the majority of the vehicle?s functions.

The Velar is underpinned by a lightweight aluminum-intensive platform shared with the Jaguar XE and XF sedans, as well as the F-Pace crossover. Three engine options will be available in the U.S. at launch, including a 247-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4, 180-hp 2.0-liter turbodiesel I-4, and a potent 380-hp 3.0-liter supercharged V-6.

The Range Rover Velar will be available to order from Land Rover dealerships starting April 12 at a starting price of $50,895 including destination. Expect deliveries to start in late summer. The New York metropolitan area continues to be the world?s largest market for Range Rover vehicles, according to Land Rover.
