Range Rover Evoque Cabrio With Widebody Kit Rides on Vossen Wheels

If you wanted a low-riding convertible, why didn't you buy the Golf GTI Cabrio in the first place? Sure, the Evoque is one of the the only rag-tops in the world that can ford a river, but is that still relevant here?

Whether we like it or not, the Evoque Cabrio is way more popular than it should be and some people even went as far as to customize it. This one was put together by the Swiss company Cartech and is a collection of parts we've seen before.

The only body kit yet put together specifically for this car comes from Hamann. It's designed to make the Evoque look even wider than it already is by using fender flares.

These offer the added aesthetic benefit of allowing much bigger wheels to be fitted. In this case, the tuners went with Vossen's Forget CG-201 design which is a simple five-spoke, painted black to contrast with the white body of the baby Range Rover.

Particularly in the back, these make the factory brake discs look tiny. But when you consider that a 2-liter diesel engine is probably under the hood of this 2-ton convertible, stopping power isn't really an issue.

Getting back to the body kit, it also includes custom bumpers and grilles, front chin spoiler, side skirts, and a unique rear apron with a diffuser look bumper and supercar-style central tailpipe.

You can't get the Evoque sitting this level without a set of KW suspension components. We don't know how much they've shaved, but it's got to be at least an inch. This has to be the only SUV out there that makes you constantly worried about speed traps.

Be it the diesel or the turbo gasoline, Hamann Motorsport can beef up the Evoque with a simple map optimization. For the diesel, this treatment adds 30 PS and 60 Nm (44 lb-ft). As for the Si4 turbocharged four-cylinder gas-burner, this can be tuned to 260 PS and 395 Nm (291 lb-ft). But this project was probably left stock in that department. http://www.autoevolution.com/news/r...debody-kit-rides-on-vossen-wheels-113729.html
