After battery disconnect, fob and tailgates not working

Hi all. My usually reliable 2006 rr sport SE failed to start. I quickly found the battery +ve terminal was loose so I jammed it on until I got home. Later I found that the post was a little small for the terminal so I wrapped it with a thin strip of metal and reattached the terminal. All seemed fine, then I found the fob doesn't function and the tailgates don't unlock. Everything else seems ok, although the compressor seems to run a lot longer and I found one brake light is out. Any ideas before I get stuck into it?

Update: after briefly connecting the battery cables the fob is working. Still nothing working in the tailgates, glove box fuse and relays are ok. I've tried resetting by pressing the dash buttons simultaneously, also unlock and tailgate buttons, still nothing. Any ideas?

Hi Brian,
I ad the same issue with my 07 after I purchased it. I had to replace the car battery and it started giving me problems I had to do a key reset.
To do this you put the key in the ignition and turn on unit dash lights illuminate position 2. Then turn off, remove key and press both the lock and unlock buttons 3 times within 30 seconds. You should now be able to open and close all locks. Hope this helps.

Also the compressor should run for at least 2 minutes every start up. Mine runs almost 2 1/2 minutes With no issues.
